Dear Mr. Langer:
I hope this message finds you well. Congratulations on all the success you’ve had with your company. Not everybody can say that.
I am writing to you today because the Baltimore Bridge fiasco made us angry at Trump supporters. They are actually trying to blame this on black folks for no reason other than racism. Back in 2018, you were a huge Trump supporter. We picked a state out of a hat. We picked New York. We picked a Trump supporting company out of a hat. We picked yours.
The original plan was to file a bunch of FOILs. Find something you had done wrong, based on your commitment to good public service and staying within the law, probably by accident. Then see if we could cost you a few dollars without breaking the law just for being a Trump supporter.
Then a thought occurred. A lot of conservative folks won’t vote for Trump now. Might be sexual assault, might be the attempted coup, might be it’s not obvious he has been broke since the late 70’s and laundering cash, could be a lot of things. Couldn’t a company go through the same thing??
By the way, I got Trump support back then. I understood if you didn’t like Hillary. I understood that as a business owner, your job is to keep your taxes down so of course you’ll vote for the Republican. I understood that before the Republican Party became a cult, you might just be in the habit of pulling the lever next to a name with an “R” beside it.
Now, after “Nazis on both sides” and screwing women over with Dobbs, and a rape conviction, and obviously selling out our bases in Syria to the Russians, it’s much harder to understand. Even if you’re an Evangelical, Mr. Trump has led one of the most anti what Jesus said lives in the history of mankind. Can a business owner run a successful business and be in a cult at the same time??
Because you’re in upstate New York, we’re also wondering if Rep. Stefanik has reached out to you. She wants to be the VP nominee really badly. So badly that she has no credibility left and can’t be taken seriously. However, because New York politics regardless of Party is based on the Compare Politics Model, you could see her trying to strongarm a business back onto the team.
Kindly let me be clear. Until Trump disappears and the MAGA movement dies, the free market is going to get employed a lot. I don’t know which Billionaire came up with the idea that the best way to keep their taxes low would be to form a coalition of the elderly, the racist, and the not so bright, but here we are. On the other hand, the COVID-19 virus, Trump is responsible for over 700,000 needless deaths, thinks this plan was awesome.
In case you;re wondering, now I’m not a Socialist. I’m one of those fiscally conservative, because it makes the most sense and is the most fun, and socially Liberal, because it is the right thing to do, types who do not mind if the military has to go and blow things up now and again. I guess having a dad on the Tomahawk missile design team helps a little.
I was a full blown Communist in college. Then I read Wealth and Poverty and everything changed. I realized the government should try to limit spending to “pay me now or pay me later” situations. Then along came the Clinton campaign in ‘92, I went to 38 states on his behalf, and I was a Politics of the 3rd Way Lifer. I want all businesses to succeed provided they can do it without destroying the environment and/or being racist, sexist, or bigoted or some combination thereof.
I know you might be committed to conservative fiscal politics and may be committed to conservative social politics, as disappointing as that is, but are you committed to a broke money laundering clown who cannot remember who is President?? Are you committed to a political Party that is letting the clown’s family control what used to be the Party’s money?? Have you asked yourself time and time again, “If he’s truly a billionaire, why does he need to sell sneakers and Bibles to the less fortunate in order to get buy??”
Thanks to COVID, GEN-z, and women taking part in Roevember, we are quickly reaching the stage where the Republican Party might disappear entirely. However, until then we are going to have threats of violence and violence. Just like CRT and woke, were N-word substitutes, DEI is an N-word substitute now. Are you comfortable with that?? Don’t you want to experience a period once again where when people think about you, they admire the success of the company first instead of rooting for your failure due to the social policies you’ve attached yourself to??
