Objective
Obtaining a sales or writing position, especially one based on commission or where there are commission opportunities in the future, would be ideal. Metrics concerning my sales numbers as compared to others in similar circumstances are available by request. In order to write, I need my real estate job. In order to fund the marketing for the real estate job, I need a retail gig.
Experience

So You Think You Know Rhode Island is available on Amazon and various bookstores around the country. Thanks to the book’s sales performance, Rogue’s of Rhode Island was published in March of 2024.
2013-Present Freelance Writer, Quahogs United, and the DUIC Warwick, RI
Copywriter/Editor/Social Media/Salesperson
My career has always had two parts. There have been the writing jobs “close to home” and the sales opportunities out in the world. Please allow me to discuss the writing, and jobs involving other arts, first. In an interesting way, creative jobs make me a better salesperson.
My writing skills carry most of the load for generating revenue. I started writing professionally in 1990 as a speechwriter for, at that time, State Representative and future Massachusetts Democratic Chair Joan Menard. I have always taken writing jobs as a secondary source of income. While I’m capable of writing essays and think pieces as well as commercials, most of my income is derived through public records requests of all forms.
When I am not writing on contract, Quahogsunited.com garners hundreds of hits per day. Sometimes during legislative periods or election cycles, I sell ads on the blog. My social media backs this up. Personally, I have 4990 Facebook Friends and over 1100 Twitter Followers. Add in Ello, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Bluesky and the Blog followers and I have easily over 20,000 contacts on social media. The Blogs create writing opportunities and ad revenue which underwrites various artistic and political opportunities. The Pac itself, Quahogs United, is a Rhode Island Political Action Committee created as a firewall so numerous charitable efforts could not be tied to political activity.
On the art side, the Downtown Utica Investment Coalition is a 501-c-4 that helped bring tourists to the great city of Utica via an series of artistic events including Art on Utica. In the summer of 2017, the DUIC doing business as Art on Utica, produced 21 live art exhibitions. 18 artists performed, 93 advertisements were sold, over 990 people viewed live art, and the artists garnered 14 Commissions for future work. The 2019 version of Art on Utica produced 24 live art exhibitions, 19 artists performed, 107 advertisements were sold and the number of people who witnessed live art crossed 1500 as more events were designed to be child friendly.
2018-2019 Dick’s Sporting Goods New Hartford, NY
Pro Shop Associate
Some projects take longer to generate income. In 2018, a spot in the Dick’s pro shop was offered to me. I started off just selling clubs and maintaining inventory. Along the way, I would become a certified club fitter and grip installer. By the time I was done, our store was rated 3rd for sales of golf equipment in the state of New York. In 2019, 25 individual stores put their sales people on a commission program. My store was not one of them. At the time, the money mattered the most.
2005-2016 Total Newport Newport RI and Utica, NY
CEO
Total Newport was the “contractor name” I used to obtain different positions in the timeshare industry after I left Equivest. This way, I could bring on fellow team members as well. From 2006-2008, contracted with Regency Travel as a Podium Speaker and Sales Manager. From 2006-2011, served as Sales Director at the Newport Bay Club. Responsibilities included running an off property contact division that eventually exhausted the Bay Club’s inventory. From 2012 to 2016, I managed $800,000 of timeshare inventory.
2001-2006 Equivest/Wyndham Newport, RI
Salesperson
The Cendant Corporation bought out Equivest and rebranded it as Wyndham. The Corporate Officers who were bought out in that transaction moved forward by forming the Sterling Group. I conducted “one on one” and podium presentations, depending on tour flow, both lasting 90 minutes.
1996-2001 Home Depot and other Floor covering Firms in Massachusetts and Rhode Island
Sales Representative
Before there was timeshare, there was floorcovering. I had been both a commercial (see the Pfizer Welcoming Center in Groton, CT and the Barrington, RI High School) and residential salesperson with various firms previously. I surpassed every monthly and yearly sales goal as determined by store performance. I was given the opportunity to teach Home Depot University in a multiple of disciplines outside of floor covering. I guess once people find out you can present, people allow you to present.
Education and Military Experience
1972-1996
For elementary school, I attended St. Philomena’s. I was moved from 6th grade to 7th grade at Tiverton Middle School in the same year effectively “skipping” a grade. I went on to graduate from Bishop Connolly High School in 1984. I attended Southeastern Massachusetts University but I left college for the opportunity to politically campaign nationwide. On the campaigns, I learned folks cared about military service. I decided to enlist and earned a Legal Specialist Certificate from the US ARMY awarded to me at Fort Jackson, SC. I first served at the 3rd JAG located in Boston, MA and the 1st of the 103rd Rhode Island National Guard Unit in Cranston, RI.

my name is George Tselios and I live in Marietta Georgia. I am big supporter of Donald J Trump and the Republican Party. I was thinking of vacationing in the Northeast and somehow came across you website. You website is well done and you appear to be an educated man. However your support of the Democratic Party and Kamala Harris is totally insane. As I said I am at the top of the republication party and would like debate you on Facebook and record the event. I will then post it on the Marietta Diner website for all to judge. I doubt you will accept my challenge knowing you will be unable to justify your position
