Dear Secretary Schmidt:
Under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, 65 §66.1 et seq., I am requesting an opportunity to inspect or obtain copies of voting data records. For both election cycles 2020 and 2016, I would like a copy of records reflecting the total number of people registered, total number of votes cast, total number of votes cast in the Presidential race, any US Senate race, and the total number of votes cast in all the US Congressional races combined. For each cycle, I would like the total number of absentee ballots requested and the number returned. Electronic records are always preferred.
Editorial Section you need not respond to
There are many irregularities in 7 states this year. Most of them seem to be tracking with absentee ballots requested and not returned as well as the projected winning margin for Trump matching the number of “under votes”. There will be a separate FOIA filed regarding Starlink later this week. We do not believe it is a problem by itself. We are more interested in the “relationship problems” it creates. No one suggests any member of your team is at fault for any of this. We need a baseline to compare this year’s results to. Hopefully, your Senate race goes to automatic recount and we might discover the source of the irregularities that way.
If there are any fees for searching or copying these records, please inform me if the cost will exceed $100. The Pennsylvania Right to Know Law requires a response time within seven business days. If access to the records I am requesting will take longer than this amount of time, please contact me with information about when I might expect copies or the ability to inspect the requested records. If you deny any or all of this request, please cite each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information and notify me of the appeal procedures available to me under the law. Thank you for considering my request.
In Hoc Signo,
