Dear Mr. Trainor:
I hope this message finds you well. While we may have disagreements from time to time, we should be united against evil forces that affect us all. That is the example we should set for kids who might read communications like this someday.
Back in the second week of August, Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea released a statement where she called for masks in schools. You then released a counter statement. You accused her of being in pursuit of “political relevance”. You suggested she made the statement out of ignorance without “access to appropriate data”. You further accused her of engaging in “Politicizing the issue.”
Let us see how you did. The Governor has now come out for the same thing. Since the Secretary of State can get votes from women in a Democratic Primary and the Governor cannot, more on that in a moment, she is more relevant. The CDC made exactly the same statement as the Secretary of State on the same day based on their data. Are you claiming the Governor’s data is better than the CDC’s?? Lastly, since the Governor is trying to invite every sexist pig to vote in the Democratic Party he can, all the “Politicizing of the issue” was contained in the way you tried to dismiss the Secretary of State because she is a woman.
You now owe the Secretary of State an apology. You ran a number of cheap shots at her thinking you would get away with it because she is a woman. Instead, you got caught.
By the way, we all get it. The Governor surrounds himself with forced birth advocates who think women are only good for one thing. I am sure one of them spoke up first. Then you got the direction to put out the statement. Instead of speaking up to the 1950’s crowd, you went along to get along.
What is truly sad is that for the most part, we would not expect this from you. We would expect you to respect women. We would expect you to stand your ground.
What happens if you do not apologize?? That gives us an excuse to do the most obvious thing. We are going to go digging through the ole “Hurricane gutter company never does an estimate, takes $250,000 anyway, goes bankrupt” story. However, we will not be looking for fiscal miscues. We want to know when it became so easy for you to try to dismiss women with total lies and not feel shameful about it. We are willing to believe there is a woman you mistreated in that story who has never been able to tell her side just because she is a woman. In 2021, that changes.
When you discovered that the Governor’s two best friends were forced birth pigs who loved Trump, including one who brought a fake fetus to the Senate Floor to try to ban women from having the right to control their own bodies, what were you thinking?? When the Governor thought it was a cool idea to let an actual Trump organizer raise cash for him and then immediately had to backtrack out of the whole thing with an amateur hour “I had no idea” lie attached, what were you thinking?? When you watched the Governor’s dismal performance in the Lieutenant Governor’s Primary Election two cycles ago, what were you thinking?? In short, when you show up for work each day what are you thinking?? As much fun as it is going to be to introduce Tik Tok to the people around Senator Ruggerio, introducing it to the Governor’s people might actually be more entertaining.
