Dear Mr. Diossa:
I hope this message finds you well. With any luck, the virus has stayed away from the ones you love. Sadly, we have once again been taught the lesson that any health crisis hits minority communities harder.
How does it feel to possibly know you might be Lieutenant Governor in a little while?? Is that something you always wanted to do?? “Lieutenant-whatever” is usually not on most people’s wish lists career wise.
Even when I was in Upstate New York, I admired your work from afar. I thought you employed a skilled process when it came to problem solving. Everyone could tell the solutions you were proposed were of a direct nature and not an attempt to skim dollars from somewhere.
It is often said that with every unexpected gift, there is a hidden challenge underneath. For instance, when I got sober back on 23 September 2002, I did not know that meant I was now a Bipolar 1, and other things, person walking around the planet who was no longer self-medicating. Learning what that meant was expensive. You have two challenges awaiting you as well.
Your first challenge is some of the folks your future boss hangs out with. Mayor Lombardi is questionable, Senator Dipalma is deplorable, and Mayor Polisena is beyond disgusting. Around my friends, Mayor Polisena is known simply as “fake fetus boy”.
At what point to you separate yourself from at least two of them?? If you don’t, you may never get elected again. If you do, you may not get the job now. Senator DiPalma, who once tried to raise money for the Pedophilia Protection Organization known as the Knights of Columbus on the backs of women seeking health care, lives a fraudulent life. Maybe it’s not as fraudulent as Senate President Ruggerio’s having a string of mistresses, including the one too cheap to buy condoms, while declaring himself to be a family man and good Catholic but it’s still fraudulent. Senator DiPalma loves trotting out the grandkids forgetting to mention if one of those kids turns out to be gay or seeks an abortion, he’ll disown them in a minute.
Mayor Polisena actually did bring a fake fetus to the Senate Floor in order to deny women health care. He should have been tossed out on his ass that day. The fact he puts a (D) in front of his name pisses off half the Party now. I promise by the end of this year, he will reflect on his choices. Kindly tell your future boss to disown Mayor Polisena as soon as possible.
If you’re wondering, Mayor Lombardi gets the least amount of heat because he does a great job running a city. We all know he masturbates to the thought of Trump mentioning his name, but he never says anything outwardly sexist or racist. North Providence City Hall is awesome and getting business done there is easy. Meanwhile Johnston has bathrooms not fit for a prison. Yes, Mayor Lombardi did originally get elected because Jim Hummel stalked a child, another unpaid sin that will be rectified, but Mr. Hummel did the stalking. No matter which way you slice it, your future boss is way too comfortable with these folks.
Can you imagine winning a Democratic Primary while all the women in the Party hate you?? Can you imagine being a candidate when everyone wants to settle old scores with your boss’ advisers?? Can you imagine being on the campaign trail and one of them rolls out a “Well, you don’t have to have an abortion if you keep your legs crossed like my mom and aunts taught my sisters to do” take?? Can you imagine one of the 3 clowns inviting Bishop Tobin to a campaign event and a pedophilia case hits the next day?? (Yes, that’s a tease.)
Your second problem once you take the gig is how are you going to make it up to the underrepresented women in our state?? Even if your boss casts off the forced birth pigs, many of us root for that daily, the ratio of those in power who are penis equipped as compared to the fairer sex is way out of balance. How do you even that square that without pandering??
The biggest cause for concern is one you know. Minority women are the work horses in our Party. Look at what black women just pulled off in Georgia for us. While lots of white guys are imagining a Revolution and some white women are having space laser fantasies, minority women are at the ready to go to work in order to create positive change.
That means by definition you walk into any Primary with the hardest working folks wanting to work for somebody else. It could be an 8 or 9-way Primary for Governor. How many volunteers are going to be available?? How many folks will volunteer to help the forced birth sympathizers who screwed over the women folk?? That’s sounds like a good time.
Please understand that none of this is designed to get you to not take the job. I want you to succeed and do well. However, if you align yourself with the Polisena’s of the world all you are in for is consistent battle. By 2022, all the forced birth pigs will be removed from the Party unless they qualify for the Warwick Hometown Exemption. Turns out the free market appreciates when women have access to health care.
I also want you to keep the larger Party goals in mind. While we clean up from the Trump mess, it would be great if all the disgusting sexists who haven’t read Matthew 5:17, Jesus makes one statement on abortion and it’s prochoice, would just put I’s or R’s in front of their name. If their District wants to elect them as part of the Minority, and everything that means from a Legislative point of view, cool. By the way, if you think that’s entertaining, we Catholics repeat the words of a gay man, Christ heals two gay people and doesn’t ask them to repent, at Mass every week and most folks in the pews have no idea.
You are truly an asset to Democrats in our state and others. I’m sorry that your moment of personal achievement has dorsal fins lurking beneath. If certain folks hadn’t hijacked our principles, the messy parts would disappear. Maybe that’s guidance for the future.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
In Hoc Signo,
Robert T. Oliveira
