Honorable Clerk Lunn:

Under the California Public Records Act § 6250 et seq., I am requesting an opportunity to inspect or obtain copies of public records that involve voter information.  Normally, I would ask for the “voter information file”, however I do not know if that is the nomenclature in California so please allow me to spell out what I am looking for.

 

For all persons named Joseph Rogan or Joe Rogan living in Ventura County, I would like copies of documents that indicate the following:

 

1. When said person registered to vote
2. Their Party of registration
3. Did they vote in the 2018 General Election??  If so, what Party were they registered to at the time??
4. I would like the same information for the 2018 Primaries, the 2016 General Election, the 2016 Primaries and the 2016 Presidential Primary.
5. It should be noted that normally these requests contain an “address” section.  Mr. Rogan is a celebrity and that could cause creepiness since I plan to make these records available to the public.  Mr. Rogan has endorsed a Presidential candidate in the Democratic Party’s Presidential Primaries therefore he has surrendered his inherent right to privacy.  If you could redact the address before copying the files, that would be appreciated.

 

If there are any fees for searching or copying these records, please inform me if the cost will exceed $200.  The California Public Records Act requires a response within ten business days. If access to the records I am requesting will take longer, please contact me with information about when I might expect copies or the ability to inspect the requested records.

 

If you deny any or all of this request, please cite each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information and notify me of the appeal procedures available to me under the law.
