Dear President Pizzuto:
I hope this message finds you well. I can imagine you are coming off a rather busy time of year. As you read this letter please keep in mind the faces you see each day.
I have to tell you, a lot of people who asked me to write this letter want me just to open with, “What the Hell are you doing??” However, some of us are concerned that you do not know how you appear to many. Therefore, we will take a different tact.
You core audience is made up of people who are suffering. They may be mentally ill addicts like me. By percentage, more of them are female and less of them are white than the general population around them. Isn’t it your job to treat them with respect or do you have the Salvation Army’s attitude towards people??
So we go to the KXL News website, a station known for engaging in racist content, and we see your banner ad at the bottom of the page. Was you desire to slap everyone you supposedly serve in the face?? Let us not forget that when a group of people from Oregon who would have killed your clients on sight, KXL catered to them. Mr. Obama did not make many mistakes but one of them was not ensuring that Oregon had a Waco ending.
Because they are the home of the Clyde Lewis Ground Zero program, they are the home for his need to engage in white supremacy. Just last night he featured Alex Jones. You know, Alex “Sandy Hook is a hoax” Jones?? Alex Jones gets featured because anti-Semitic types and gun nuts love him. Once again, one of the reasons gun nuts are gun nuts are so they can engage in a race war someday. It is every gun nut’s wet dream.
Sometimes Clyde is a little more direct. Last week, he featured folks from Virginia Militias. These people, again white supremacists, want to go to war, killing black folks first, so they can all have AR-15s on them at all times. Clyde puts these folks on the show as if they are normal. KHL is but one of many platforms for this filth.
Go back and time and listen to the shows Clyde did when the Oregon standoff was happening. Make sure you do it with some of your clients in the room. Listen to how Clyde cheers on white supremacy and a resulting “Christian Nation” every chance he gets. Last night, he produced a show on how the media gets everything wrong and left all the white nationalist networks off his list. He does not do this by accident.
What are we going to do about it?? We are going through the Alpha Media network one advertiser at a time. Those tied to blue marketplaces will have the most immediate problems since our friends control those. Ask Autozone and Lincoln Electronics, due to abortion bills in Tennessee and Ohio, what it’s like.
As for you, we are going to FOIA every report you have ever filed. We are going to do a background check on your Board. We are going to make sure that monies you say are going to causes are actually going to said causes. Right now, your relationship with KHL, and Clyde Lewis, makes it look like you know it’s fraudulent and you’re just laughing at everybody. In other words, it’s rather Trumpian.
You must never forget that compliance equals consent. If you have a relationship with them, you stand for what they stand for. They use you to hide their bigotry by pointing to their “good work in the community”.
Yes, there is a Russian Roulette aspect to this but that is the world we live in now thanks to Donald Trump. We will not be a White Supremacist version of a Christian Nation. We will stand up to bigotry in all it forms. We will pull off the layers one at a time.
This would be a good time for your Board to get together and decide what they want to be. How you act is how you will be treated. Most importantly, outside of Portland, your connection to KXL and Clyde Lewis is now well known.
